Looks the like backlash was strong enough that Microsoft is no longer storing the "Recall" OCR'd images in plaintext (thus fixing a *glaringly* obvious security issue) *and* making the entire "Recall" "feature" opt-in, after so many people so very forcefully rejected the very idea of it:
